Semi-Permanent Makeup

Semi-permanent makeup, also referred to as micro pigmentation, is the new go to makeup solution. For anyone who has to wake up hours earlier in the mornings to carefully shape and draw your eyebrows or eyeliner on, this treatment is perfect for you. Unlike conventional tattooing which is carbon and penetrates 2mm into the second layer of skin making it permanent and a lifelong decision. The new semi-permanent option gives you a piece of mind that it can be reshaped, changed and renewed if you wanted or needed it to be. The makeup is made up of zinc and iron oxide which is already a natural product in our bodies, which makes any allergic reaction very unlikely, it is placed 1mm into the second layer of skin which is called the dermis and again, makes the treatment changeable if necessary.

It’s no secret that many women of all ages right now are benefiting from this treatment…
Imagine waking up in the mornings knowing that your eyes and lips are already done!
The ease of holidays at the beach, by the pool and in the heat, where makeup is usually not an option… We know we’ve felt conscious of our faces looking bare. Here at Bellisimos we treat your face as if it’s our own and take great pride in your results. We believe that safety and professionalism is of utmost importance when it comes to your face.

Why use this technique?

Sometimes, for many reasons, eyebrows, eyes, lips and other features benefit from “replacement” or accentuation. Perhaps eyebrows have become sparse through over-tweezing, or have completely disappeared due to alopecia or other illnesses? In these situations, semi-permanent makeup for the eyebrows could be the answer. Or maybe your eyes would benefit from the enhanced definition of semi-permanent eye makeup – or perhaps your lip shape (semi-permanent lip makeup)? In each case, just two visits to our conveniently located clinics could make a huge difference. Each visit takes a couple of hours… And the benefit lasts for years!

How long does Semi Permanent make-up last?

Semi-permanent makeup is considered permanent since the implanted pigment cannot be washed off. In time, fading will occur naturally and some or all of the colour will need to be reapplied. Semi-permanent makeup can last up to two to five years and will gradually fade away. We recommend a top up after 18 months to boost your colour and definition.
Can you match my hair colour?
There is a wide range of colours and shades so whether you have blonde, red, brunette or black hair there will be a colour to compliment you.
Does Semi Permanent make-up hurt?
For most people it isn’t a problem. For others it can be a little uncomfortable depending on the individual’s pain threshold, generally it is understood to be no more painful than having your eyebrows tweezed. However anaesthetic creams are applied prior and throughout treatment to keep any discomfort to a minimum.
Is Semi-Permanent Makeup safe?
  • Anyone and everyone who desires a natural enhancement, and to give freedom from the daily application of make-up
  • Alopecia sufferers who have lost some or all their facial hair including eyebrows or eyelashes
  • Chemotherapy patients who may lose facial hair would benefit from semi-permanent makeup before or after treatment

Will semi-permanent make-up work for me?

In a world where we always wonder what if?…
Most of us look at procedures but don’t actually end up having them done for fear of trying and wondering if this it’s really for them…
If you are looking for saving time in the mornings, if you are a regular swimmer or athlete but have to re-apply your make-up after your workout, then having semi-permanent make-up treatments could be for you. The procedures available can help you to look younger and more youthful and give you that  added boost of confidence to go out every day looking your best, and always flawless. If you have allergic reactions to some of the brands of make-up available in the stores and shops, this could be the answer, as you only need one allergy test per treatment to see if the products used will cause any reactions. This will of course save you money of buying products that cannot be returned and can also be expensive. Semi-permanent make-up can help with colour correction of skin tones so you’ll never have to worry about your skin being unbalanced or having skin with patches of colour again. Some of the most incredible benefits are seen with those clients that have incurred hair loss due to alopecia or cancer treatments. The re-construction of eyebrows etc. for such clients can be life changing. So, semi-permanent make-up will not only leave you confident and give you a beautifully flawless look, it also saves you time and money.
What aftercare procedures are needed with semi-permanent make-up?
You may resume your normal activities straight after treatment. There may be slight swelling or redness on the area which will go down quickly. The treated area will always appear darker and more exact immediately after the treatment, this will lighten and soften over the next few days. There may be slight flaking over the area during healing. Your semi-permanent makeup may need a touch-up visit 3 months after the initial application of pigment, to adjust shape, colour or density, this can be included in the price, provided it is completed within 3 months of the initial treatment. We recommend that you return to the clinic once a year. Maintenance is minimal. Other guidelines for getting the best from your permanent makeup will be given during your consultation or treatment period.
REMEMBER
Treated area will be more exact, dark and intense when first treated.
The skin will take 3-12 days to return to normal.
It is normal to lose 1/3 of the colour during this initial period.
Always use a sunscreen on make-up to prevent colour change and loss.
