PDO thread lifting treatment, lifts and tightens the sagging tissues of the skin. The threads are made up of Polydioxanone and is mostly made in South Korea, which are introduced into deeper layers of the skin, and produces 3 different effects on the skin including: the contraction of fat tissues causing skin tightening and face sliming effect, collagen stimulation causing cellular renewal, and skin lifting mechanical effects. Since the PDO threads are absorbable they will be dissolved by simple hydrolysis and will disappear within 9 months after the procedure. But due to cellular rejuvenation the lifted facial contours may remain for another 3-6 months. To ensure long lasting results up to 3 years the procedure is recommended to be repeated 6-9 months after the first procedure.

After numbing the areas to be treated with a local anesthesia, the PDO threads are coated by silicon and polished several times in order to reduce both pain and bleeding during the procedure. Then they are inserted into different layers of the skin mainly in the subcutaneous fat layer via needles having sharp or blunt tips. The procedure may take 15-20 minutes in total. The treatment is unexpectedly safe, except a few side effects including mild bruising and soreness which will resolve within 3-5 days after the treatment. Since PDO thread placement is an art and a science; we must opt for a board certified doctor for the treatment to ensure good outcome and reduced side effects.

How long will the results last?

On average Botox® results last 3-5 months. It is usually dependant on lifestyle and your body’s reaction or immunity to the product.
Can I improve the longevity of the results?
There are ways to improve the longevity of the results by treating your skin from the inside. We usually advise patients to have other treatments between having Botox® such as, PRP (platelet rich plasma) facials. This treatment helps to renew the mid / deep dermis layers of skin and improves collagen production, helping your skin to renew and show a more visible youthful appearance.

What’s the aftercare?

After your treatment all we ask is that you do not drink alcohol on the treatment day, avoid tilting your head forwards or laying down for 4-6 hours afterwards, and do not exercise for 48 hours. If you feel any temporary discomfort, such as a headache just take ordinary painkillers such as paracetamol. Please avoid any anti-inflammatory medication, such as Ibuprofen or Aspirin.

After treatment there’s a very small risk of bruising at the injection sites, and some people sometimes experience a headache. Other possible side effects can include an allergic reaction to the product, however your practitioner will go through all of the necessary information with you during your consultation to ensure you are a suitable candidate for the treatment.

Botox® | Anti Wrinkle

The cheeks and lower face can benefit greatly from using the PDO thread treatment but it can be used on other areas of the face such as, under eye area, eyebrows, and wrinkles around eyes, cheeks, wrinkles around mouth, jaw line and neck. The results are fast and more visible. After the treatment the skin is instantly lifted and we will notice a firmer and smoother skin. The procedure is safe, there is no down time or surgery. It leaves no scar after the treatment. The result is immediate and long-lasting. It is possible to reverse the effects. It reduces sagging of the skin and tightens contours.

PDO thread lifting procedure is suited for patients experiencing the signs of aging such as loss of skin volume and skin sagging. It creates a noticeable improvement.

There is a great difference between men and women and how the PDO threads effects on their faces.  Men need more threads more often, and also have a greater rate of relapse. The reasons may be due to genetic factors, structural skin anatomy variations, body form and ethnicity. Wrinkles are mainly caused by the loss of fat, skin elasticity, bone or collagen below the skin’s surface. PDO Threads stimulate collagen production, and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles.

A typical treatment involves placement of the desired number of threads ranging from 1-50 threads to treat different areas of face and neck. According to the individuals face shape and requirements various entry points are considered. Local anaesthetic is injected to make the treatment as less painful as possible. The threads are introduced with a blunt or sharp needle and removed once the threads are positioned. Smooth threads are attached to lift and stimulate collagen.

Silhouette Soft uses a double action effect to restore a toned and smoother skin and also creates a sharply lifted effect on the skin.

To meet this requirement, Silhouette Soft usually combines two different effects to achieve this. One is an immediate repositioning of the tissue and second one is a gradual regeneration of collagen.

The repositioning effect is immediate and subtle. It is the result of tissue compression and skin elevation at the time of implanting the stitch. After inserting the suture, slight pressure is applied on the treated area. In this way, the doctor readjusts the contours of our face and makes it visibly smoother.

The regenerating effect is gradual. Silhouette Soft is made up of Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA). This stimulates the body so that it produces its own collagen. PLLA is a well-known polymer that has been used for several years in a number of biomedical and pharmaceutical applications, such as, orthopedic pins, rods, screws and nails for bone fractures and suture thread. This polymer has excellent bio-compatibility and is biodegradable.

The small cones on the Silhouette Soft® Suture provide fixation points and traction, by the build-up of new collagen formation. This action is what helps restore to the facial and neck arrangement.

Silhouette Soft is made in USA and is therefore subjected to numerous sanitary controls. Silhouette Soft has been developed after 6 years of research in permanent sutures with cones used in reconstructive and plastic surgery. Since its development more than 150 000 treatments carried out, and Silhouette Soft has proven its safety and efficacy every time.

Silhouette Soft is recommended for men and women who want to restore loss of facial volume and ‘lift up’ their sagging skin without an invasive treatment. It improves skin quality, facial shape and volumisation through collagen stimulation and non-surgical lifting of the skin.

Before the actual treatment there will be a consultation where the physician will evaluate our expectations and explain where the Silhouette Soft sutures will be placed using a marking pen. He/she will also discuss the risks associated with the treatment and review our medical history such as allergies, neurological conditions etc. We will be given a topical anesthetic to numb the area prior to the insertion. The sutures being inserted into the sub-cutaneous tissue then the doctor slightly compresses the tissue to reshape it by hand and to obtain the desired lifting effect. After the placement patients will experience side some side effects including minor pain, bruising and swelling.

Silhouette Soft is used to treat parts of the face, including: jaw line, cheeks and mid face area, eyebrows, neck etc.

The treatment should’ve be performed on patients with infection, or those who are under 18 years of age, and also pregnant and breastfeeding woman.

Cold packs should be wrapped and applied immediately after the procedure. Analgesia can be taken in case of pain. We should refrain from applying make-up, and sleep with our face up on the pillow. We should be massage the face for at least 5 days post treatment. Also try to avoid excessive face and neck movements, over-exposure to direct sunlight, high impact sports, use of saunas or and dental surgery.

We must avoid alcohol, aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E and C, fish oils, 1-2 days before the procedure to reduce bruising. All make ups must be removed prior to treatment. However the treatment cannot be done in case of an active infection including acne or cold sores.

Most people are able to continue with normal activities with instant improvements in their appearance. You may have some redness and some degree of swelling. Luckily, these immediate side effects are expected to settle within 14 days. For up to 7 days after the procedure skin may feel tender. Any facial massages should be avoided for the next 10 days. For the next 14 days following the treatment, it is highly recommended not to undergo any dental treatments which requires us to open our mouths widely. It is also advised that we sleep on our backs to avoid putting pressure on the face and subside swelling. Make-up products should be avoided for 12 hours. Steam room, sauna, vigorous exercise and alcohol consumption must be avoided post treatment. Application of anti-biotic creams and ice packs are recommended to reduce swelling.

The ‘one-stitch face lift’ is the latest in facial regeneration and can be performed without anesthetic. This procedure helps us achieve a fresher more youthful, lifted look without having a full face lift. It is also less invasive and has more subtle results than a full face lift. Also it can take approximately 45 minutes to perform. It requires no downtime and patients can return to work within 3-7 days the scars are well hidden and the complications are much reduced compared to a full facelift. The results are immediate and effective in lifting and tightening the skin around cheeks and jawline.
